Whats the best phone for gambling?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? My own personal opinion is that Nokia is the way to go, as you are almost guaranteed to be supported by the majority of games providers –  what do you think?

I have tried out a few other manufacturers over the years, mostly by nicking the phone of the girlfriend at the time, or the mate in the pub etc – would be interesting to see some opinions other than my own though!

  1. Anything with a screen resolution of 240×320. Nokia N95 & N96, Nokia 6300, Nokia 6500, SonyEricsson C902 & C905. However, saying that a good gaming company should be able to make even the worst mobile devices play well… but that’s my opinion.

With more touch screen coming available, I would hope that the experience will improve with richer graphics and sounds and a experience almost like land based video slots…but smaller.

Check out the slots on MFortune with a Nokia 5800 or Nokia N97 and you can see they’ve made a good attempt to support touch screen. Do the same for Probability and you’ll have to give negative stars…

    • You make a good point there Andy,

There is a difficult decision to be made when developing java-based titles for mobiles – do you make it work on the worst phones and scale up (Probability), make it work on the best and scale down (Jackpotjoy), or make a different version for every screen size / stick with just one size?

I personally hope that touchscreen will give the mobile games developers the flexibility to be really creative – gambling titles are very rigid in their design and structure, so it would be nice to see something new and innovative out there.

On the topic of MFortune, I am quite a fan of their Roulette game – they really nailed down the graphics and presentation on that one.

  2. I have to agree with the blog, Nokias are great phones….
