EGaming Review Magazine (EGR to you and me) have today announced their shortlist for the EGR Awards 2009, which is due to take place on 30th November 2009. Their nominees for ‘Mobile Gaming Operator of the Year’ are: -

Some of the usual suspects in here, with Probability being a regular appearance in mobile awards over the past 3 years, and Gamesys / Netplay TV being nominated in the ME Awards earlier in the year.   Difficult to call who deserves this one this year to be honest, as the competition is heating up in this previously quiet sector of the market.

In an exclusive interview with EGRMagazine.com, Charles Cohen of Probability (operators of Ladylucks Casino) has described his intent to take their Head 2 Head Poker game (reviewed here) into the soon to be legalised French Gambling market.

No one is quite sure how the French government’s attempts to legalise some types of gambling will work out – their initial drafts have been met with widespread critisism within the international gambling market, mostly due to their restrictions on only allowing skill-based games, and their attempts to keep their state-owned monopolies in profit.

It seems that everyone is jumping on the behemoth of a bandwagon that is the X-Factor – can’t say that I blame anyone for it, as it has to be a breadwinner or they wouldn’t do it!

Anyway, today is the turn of Probability, who have released their interpretation of the brand as a mobile slot. More info after the piccies: -

This game uses the new edition of the Probability slot engine, whose previous incarnations have included ‘Grease Slots’ and the recently released ‘Treasure Island Slots’. As with the aforementioned, this slot is a 3 reel 17 winline variant, with a max bet of £17 per spin and a max win of 250x coin size. It also features a ‘Judges Panel’ bonus game, where getting 3 X-Factor symbols on the reels puts you in front of 4 judges – two ‘NO’s will throw you out of the bonus feature, and each ’YES’ will increase your win cumulatively.

The use of the judges in the bonus game is a unique and quite innovative feature, but other than this it is the same game different day. For newcomers to mobile gaming who like the X-Factor brand this will not matter of course, but for those of us who gamble predominantly on their mobile, this is unlikely to turn any heads.

Spin3 have today announced their latest addition to their new suite of web app titles, in the form of an instant win game ‘Dragons Fortune’.

Spin3’s seventh web app title has a maximum win of 20,000x selected coin size, and uses chinese symbols which need to be matched in order to win.

The title has yet to be released onto any of Spin3’s whitelabel customers, but they anticipate that it will be available to play in the next few weeks.
